It’s been quite a while since I’ve been to an air show. The last one I was at I was still in the Air Force and I had the very unique pleasure of being able to photograph the Thunderbirds from the walkway that went around the top of the air traffic control tower at Luke Air Force Base. It was awesome and terrifying all at the same time because I was photographing one of the most incredible air demonstration teams in the world with a 500mm lens on a 3 foot wide walkway with about 60 feet between me and the ground.
The Frontiers in Flight Air Show here at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita was just as awesome but I was able to keep my feet on the ground and enjoy it with the people I love. Outside of getting the worst sunburn I’ve ever had in my life, it was an amazing experience that I know Abbee and Noah will never forget!
All photos were taken with a Sony A7III camera, Nikon 50mm 1.8 manual focus lens and Sony 85mm 1.8. Everything was edited with the C1ick Match Kodak Portra 400UC Frontier profile. Check out my quick review and samples of the C1ick Match profiles here… C1ick Match Review.
